Tamworth Celebrates 136 Years as Australia’s First City of Light

Tamworth celebrated yesterday to mark 136 years since it became the first town in Australia to flick the switch on electric street lighting.

Tamworth Powerstation Museum is celebrating 136 years of Tamworth as the First City of Light with an anniversary open day this weekend.
