The 2025 Galah Regional Photography Prize Exhibition opens at Armidale’s New England Regional Art Museum (NERAM) on Friday 11 April, with the winners announced at a celebratory exhibition party at NERAM on Friday, 2 May 2025.
The exhibition features 42 outstanding images created by 37 regional photographers from across Australia, from the Pilbara in Western Australia to Armidale, and down to Willalooka in South Australia.
These finalists were selected from more than 1,100 entries, showcasing the diversity, complexity and beauty of regional Australia.
With $27,000 in prize money, this is Australia’s richest photography prize for regional artists. The winning works will be announced on Friday, 2 May at 6:30pm.
This unique collaboration between print, digital and regional media makes the Galah Regional Photography Prize one of the most significant cultural platforms for contemporary Australian photography outside metropolitan centres.
