Advertising Sales Representatives
New England Times is expanding our team and looking to recruit up to 3 experienced sales people.
You will be responsible for selling directly to local advertisers and supporting them in their marketing decisions, expected to hit monthly sales targets as well as help feed news leads through to our editorial team. You will need to be a team player and comfortable in a remote working environment, or from the Armidale office with a remote team.
You can live anywhere in the coverage area, assigned a sales region of 3-4 local government areas. You will be supported by an external creative agency and internal editorial and operations staff to deliver the booked ads and content, as well as junior sales support staff. We are a small team, but growing fast. Above award base salary plus generous OTE incentives are on offer, plus a phone and laptop will be provided and travel will be reimbursed.
Successful applicants must:
- Have B2B sales experience, advertising sales preferred
- Have a full drivers licence
- Be well presented and good at establishing personal relationships
- Comfortable using online tools and computer based systems
- Be efficient and effective, capable of managing a large book
Roles can be either full time or part time (school hours). Flexible arrangements can be considered but as this is a service business you need to be available when your clients are available.
Apply by sending your resume and cover letter to rkc@netimes.com.au. Applications close 10 February 2025.
Journalists
The New England Times is always on the hunt for local journalists to add to the team. You can either work freelance, or we have a limited capacity to add on-staff journalists who are based in the parts of the region we need more boots on the ground.
You must live in the 12 LGAs of the New England/North West to be considered. Those who live here understand why: the New England has a culture all of its own, and if you don’t live it, you won’t get it.
If you have lived here previously and still have strong connections, we’re happy to hear from you too.
We invite all our freelancers into our Slack space so you can feel a part of the team and collaborate on stories with fellow freelancers and our on staff journos.
We offer a sliding scale of freelance rates based on complexity of the story rather than a per word arrangement. We can negotiate on costs or rates once you have proven your value to the team.
If you have a nose for finding a great story, and the experience of delivering, we would love to hear from you.
Please apply by emailing your resume and writing samples to editor@netimes.com.au
