Best in the New England Rules, Terms and Conditions

Best in the New England is a promotion being run by KORE Communication Strategy Research Pty Ltd (KORE CSR) through its subsidiary New England Times beginning July 1, 2024, and ending on 10 August, 2024.

The following rules, terms and conditions apply to who can be voted for, who can vote, who can enter and who can win in the Best of the New England competition.

  1. Each vote for the Best in the New England is an entry into the competition.
  2. By submitting an entry to a Promotion, the entrant acknowledges and agrees to be bound by the Rules, Terms and Conditions.
  3. All voters will be added to the New England Times email list as a condition of entry. You can unsubscribe at anytime.
  4. Each day a new category will be announced. Votes for that day must be for a person or business in that category. If a vote nominates a person or business deemed not to be in that category the vote will be considered invalid.
  5. Entrants can only vote for businesses and people local to the New England. That is, they must live or have an active presence (such as an office or outlet) in the 12 local government areas of the New England:
    – Armidale Regional Council

(You can vote for multiple different people or businesses in a category, and you can vote for the same person or business in multiple different categories.)
  7. There are no restrictions against voting for employers, employees, friends, family members, or so on. Businesses or individuals can also vote for themselves.
  8. Employees of KORE CSR and all subsidiaries are ineligible to enter the cash giveaway, but can otherwise vote in the promotion.
  9. The winner for each category will be determined solely on which person or business received the most valid votes for that category. Judges decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered in to.
  10. The winner for each business type category will receive a certificate, a free advertorial-style story about them or their business which must mention their Best in the New England win (valued at $800), and an advertising offer.
  11. The winner for each ‘best of the best’ attribute category will win a $1000 advertising credit they can use towards advertising with New England Times, so long as the advertising meets acceptability standards of New England Times and the booking requested is available.
  12. A person or business may win more than one category.
  13. Category prizes are non-transferable and may not be redeemed for cash.
  14. Nominees who do not win their category may also be offered an advertising or promotion opportunity which is non-transferable and may not be redeemed for cash.
  15. All voters will go into the draw to win $500 cash each week. One winner will be drawn randomly each Saturday during the promotion.
  16. All votes received from Saturday through to Friday will be eligible to win the cash prize drawn the following Saturday.
  17. Each vote will constitute an entry for that week’s giveaway. An individual can enter more than once.
  18. The cash prize will be delivered by electronic bank transfer to an account or PayID nominated by the winner.
  19. If the winner cannot be contacted at the details on the voting form entry then their prize will be forfeited.
  20. KORE CSR may at its absolute discretion withdraw or exclude any person from the Promotion or participation in any prize if that person at any time behaves in a manner which inappropriate or offensive or is or could be considered antisocial, dangerous or threatening or which may cause injury to themselves or any other person.
  21. The total prize pool is $6000 cash, $72,000 in in-kind advertising. KORE CSR make no undertaking or guarantee to distribute the entire prize pool.
  22. The decision of KORE CSR in determining the winners of both the Best in the New England categories and the weekly cash prize are final.
