The Community Power Agency will be co-presenting on clean jobs in renewable energy at the Renewable Manilla Festival this Friday April 19th.
Community Power Agency’s Regional Coordinator Heidi McElnea said the interactive presentation would explain the job opportunities and economic possibilities that are in the pipeline for New England North West.
“With between 30 and 50 renewable energy projects across the region in the stages of planning and construction, there’s potential to get involved, to develop skills and qualifications, to shift across from other industries, and to kick start new careers and business ventures,” Ms McElnea said.
The session’s co-presenter is Sewa Emojong from Local Jobs – New England North West.
“These jobs are not going to be handed to us,” said Ms Emojong.
“In this session, we will be challenging participants to consider how they may seize the opportunities available!”
The Community Power Agency, Local Jobs NENW and Geni.Energy will also run a pop up stall amongst the yoga, craft workshops, movies and other activities at the Renewable Manilla Festival, which runs Friday April 19 to Saturday April 20 2024.
The Renewable Manilla Festival is run by community group Manilla Community Renewable Energy (MCRE). The group has a vision to build a community-owned 5 megawatt solar and battery system. The festival aims to build education and community knowledge of community owned energy projects.
