The “Loving Your Later Life Expo” is returning to 2024 after a successful inaugural year last year.
The Expo is being held at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre, Friday May 31st and Saturday June 1st from 9am to 3pm, with free entry each day. The event is open to all ages but especially designed for people who are 60 and over, support people and caregivers, and is expected to be bigger and better, according to organiser from McLean Care, Ricki Bradbery.
“Last year’s event was well received, however being held during the week, we didn’t get a lot of people come through as if it were held on a weekend, which is the feedback we received.”
“So this time the Expo will be held on the Friday and the Saturday”, Ms Bradbery said.
The Loving Your Later Life Expo promises many exhibitors to be under the one roof, including McLean Health, Real Estate agents to offer advice on downsizing, builders, and technology stands, just to name a few.
The event will also feature two celebrities over the two days to keep event-goers both entertained and informed.
“We only had one celebrity last year in Julie Goodwin from Masterchef, who was a smashing success. So naturally, we invited her to come again which she’s agreed to do.”
“But this year we’ll also be featuring a second celebrity in Steve Willis, who is commonly known as ‘Commando’ to the people in the exercise world and in the media.”
“He’ll be talking about the holistic approach to fitness and how it can transform lives, and how we can do this at any age without the need for a fancy gym – we can do this simply from the comfort of our homes, which is great!” Ms Bradbery said.
Ms Bradbery said that this Expo is to help demonstrate to those later in their lives in how to love themselves better by keeping themselves busy and active.
“We tend to try and have that theme around keeping well through diet, health, well-being, movement as well as bringing vibrancy to old age.”
