Journalists

The New England Times is always on the hunt for local journalists to add to the team. You can either work freelance, or we have a limited capacity to add on-staff journalists who are based in the parts of the region we need more boots on the ground.

You must live in the 12 LGAs of the New England/North West to be considered. Those who live here understand why: the New England has a culture all of its own, and if you don’t live it, you won’t get it.

If you have lived here previously and still have strong connections, we’re happy to hear from you too.

We invite all our freelancers into our Slack space so you can feel a part of the team and collaborate on stories with fellow freelancers and our on staff journos.

We offer a sliding scale of freelance rates based on complexity of the story rather than a per word arrangement. We can negotiate on costs or rates once you have proven your value to the team.

If you have a nose for finding a great story, and the experience of delivering, we would love to hear from you.

Please apply by emailing your resume and writing samples to editor@netimes.com.au

Advertising Sales Representatives (Expressions of Interest)

If you’re an experienced advertising sales person, we’re always happy to have a chat. In our current growth phase the need for more people is never far away.

Apply by emailing your resume and a cover letter to rkc@netimes.com.au
