Glen Innes Severn Council is excited to introduce the Colours of the Highlands initiative, a campaign that celebrates the unique beauty, cultural richness and vibrant community of the Glen Innes Highlands during its renowned autumn season.

Running from 1 March to 31 May, the initiative will bring together existing and new events, activities and experiences that highlight the magic of autumn in the region.

The Colours of the Highlands initiative builds on the Glen Innes Highlands’ reputation for its breathtaking natural beauty, particularly its stunning autumn colours.

By enhancing community events and activities, the campaign aims to strengthen engagement, showcase the region’s natural beauty and promote the Glen Innes Highlands as a must-visit autumn destination.

Council is inviting local businesses, community groups, artists and event organisers to get involved and contribute to celebrating the season’s vibrant transformation. Interested parties can participate by hosting events, decorating shopfronts, offering special deals, or creating unique experiences that reflect the spirit of autumn in the Highlands.

“Colours of the Highlands is a chance for the entire community to come together and showcase what makes Glen Innes a spectacular place to visit and live.” said Glen Innes Severn Council Mayor Margot Davis.

“This is not just about celebrating autumn—it’s about celebrating us. We’re inviting local businesses, artists, schools, and community groups to be part of something special, whether through hosting events, running workshops, or simply dressing up our town in autumn colours.”

With crisp air, golden leaves and breathtaking scenery, autumn provides an ideal backdrop for locals to rediscover their own backyard and for visitors to plan a Highlands getaway. Colours of the Highlands will complement Glen Innes Highlands’ established tourism offerings while creating new opportunities for community-driven events and experiences.
