Tamworth Aboriginal Medical Service – Aboriginal Corporation (TAMS-AC) has announce a series of Covid-19 vaccination clinics aimed at protecting the health and wellbeing of the Tamworth community.

The clinics will be held on 1 March, 15 March, and 29 March from 9am to 12pm at TAMS-AC, Suite 1/180 Peel St, Tamworth.

Kevin Duroux, Deputy CEO, says TAMS-AC is committed to providing culturally appropriate health care services to our community.

“These vaccination clinics are an important step in protecting vulnerable people and ensuring the health and safety of everyone in Tamworth from a nasty illness” he said.

“The importance of getting your Covid-19 vaccine and boosters cannot be overstated.

“Vaccination is a safe and effective way to prevent severe illness from Covid-19, especially for our vulnerable community members, including Elders and family members in care and hospitals. By getting your vaccination and boosters, you are not only protecting yourself but also helping to keep our community strong and healthy,” Mr Duroux said.

TAMS-AC provides culturally appropriate care for Aboriginal people, working towards closing the gap in health disparities. TAMS-AC services are designed to be respectful, inclusive, and empowering for all members of the community.

“We are excited to catch up and meet with the community during these clinics,” said Mr Duroux.

“All are welcome to stay for a yarn and morning tea. It’s a great opportunity to connect, share stories, and support each other in staying healthy.”

The clinics will offer free Covid-19 vaccinations to all community members, along with a morning tea. Transport is available for those who need it. To book transport, call (02) 6760 2500.
