The Walcha Farmer’s Market is on this Saturday, February 18, with a packed lineup of entertainment and stalls.

A banjo player, a piano accordion player, and a harpist will be among the buskers entertaining the crowds at the monthly market at McHattan Park.

At 10am, there will be a chook washing display with members of the Walcha Poultry Club, to help you prepare your birds for the poultry competition at the upcoming Walcha Show. Georgie B, a young local lass will be there for a couple of busking sessions, with her harp. What a delight to support young talent in Walcha!

Foodies will find much to enjoy at the market, with slices, rocky road, pastries, macarons and gourmet biscuits from 216 Collection and The Bush Patissier. Shoreline Oysters and Deano’s Smoked Trout will be there for the seafood lovers. Sunhill Dairy Goats have a range of goat’s cheeses and other goat products. Nan’s Homestyle Condiments will keep you sweet with jams and condiments. Moquet Garlic from Kentucky will have homegrown garlic.

The Rotary BBQ will be on hand cooking up bacon and egg rolls, steak sandwiches or sausage sandwiches. And most importantly, Walcha Roasted Coffee will be supplying the good stuff.

For the gardeners, Sienna’s Seedlings, Carinya North Nursery, and Kate’s Cacti and Succulents will have a range of seedlings, plants, trees, cacti and succulents. The Walcha Men’s Shed keeps a steady stream of seedlings available on the Community Stall. Stamp Ahead and Walcha Historical Society round out the stallholder offerings.

If locals have excess produce such as homegrown fruit, vegetables, herbs, flowers and eggs, they are warmly invited to take them along to the Community Stall and they will sell them for you for a small commission.

The Walcha Farmers’ Market at McHattan Park is on from 8.30am to 12.30pm, Saturday 18th February. Find them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/WalchaFarmersMarket
