If you are looking for something to do this weekend head out to Spring Ridge and be prepared to be amazed.

The annual Spring Ridge Fire Works and Bonfire Night is back for its 15th year and organisers are eager to show off what the community has to offer.

“Our community is amazing, and we look forward to this night each and every year, and we hope others will come out and join us,” said Kelsy Sammons, Social Media Marketing Manager with the Spring Ridge Fire Works and Bonfire Night Committee.

Hosted by the Spring Ridge Country Club, the event kicks off at 4pm on Saturday afternoon and will continue well into the evening, hosting a range of activities for all ages, as well as the fire works and an epic bonfire.

“We’re also doing a kid’s colouring competition, we’re going to do lucky door prizes, face painting, really anything to get as many kids and young families involved as we can.”

Last year saw record crowds through the gates and organisers are hoping to see even more this year, with all of the proceeds going back into the community.

“All of the money gets donated back to the Country Club so we can continue to host these events, upgrade the facilities and keep the Country Club running for the local and greater community.”

“Spring Ridge is a warming sort of community,” said Kelsy.

“Everyone knows everyone, we all gather around when someone needs a hand with something or in these events everyone kind of rallies around and gets involved.”

Where it all began

This year the event will celebrate 15 years of laughter, light and friendship all starting with two local families.

“It all started with the Archers and the Greens, and it was for a fun night with fireworks, a barbecue and a bonfire in a paddock,” said Kelsy.

“Something that started out so small, fast forward to now and it is held in July each year and is now an event for all families in the community, Spring Ridge and surrounds,”

“And it still holds it’s roots of being a very family-orientated event for the community to get together for a fun-filled night with a beautiful display of fireworks, a barbecue, kid’s activities, and a warming bonfire at the local Spring Ridge Country Club.”

“Please come and join us.”

The beloved local event is sponsored by Upper Hunter Fireworks, Liverpool Plains Shire Council, Whitehaven Coal, Precision Planting Ag (PSSAG), Bowen Contracting, and Spring Ridge Engineering (SRE).
