There may not be much of a contest, but voters will being voting today in the Northern Tablelands by-election triggered by the resignation of popular member Adam Marshall.
Mr Marshall unexpectedly resigned to pursue a corporate career. There is no serious contender opposing Brendan Moylan who has been nominated by The Nationals for the seat held strongly by Mr Marshall since 2013.
The candidates, in order on the paper, are:
- Ben Smith (Shooters, Fishers and Farmers)
- Dorothy Robinson (Greens)
- Natasha Ledger (Independent)
- Duncan Fischer (Independent)
- Brendan Moylan (Nationals)
Early voting centres will open today, 15 June, with election day being 22 June. Early voting centres are not open on Sunday. Postal vote applications close on Monday 17 June. There will be no iVote or online voting this election.
