Tamworth High School and Manilla Central School will get a piece of a $68 million pie, as part of a grant for vital infrastructure grants for NSW Public Schools.
The successful projects include upgrading classrooms, installing new playground equipment and resurfacing and upgrading sporting facilities.
For the New England, the grant will deliver:
- $1 million dollars to upgrade student facilities and the quadrangle at Manila Central School
- Over $475,000 to upgrade the toilet facilities at Tamworth High School
“The Australian Government’s Schools Upgrade Fund is making a real difference to schools, teachers and students in New England and across New South Wales. With these vital infrastructure projects, we are not just investing in buildings, but the future of our students.” said Assistant Minister Ayres, Duty Senator for New England.
“These investments prioritise schools with the greatest need, making sure students from all backgrounds have access to quality learning environments.”
Public schools with the greatest need have been prioritised, including schools with high numbers of students from a low-socio economic background, First Nations Students, and students with disability.
Public schools which haven’t received significant capital funding in the last two years were also prioritised.
