Community Strategic Plan ready for community feedback

Community consultations held at the business breakfast Moree and at the Town and Country Boggabilla.

A vibrant, welcoming community; a diversified, growing economy; an environmentally sustainable shire; and a local government that leads and operates with integrity.

These are the overarching goals set out in Council’s draft Community Strategic Plan (CSP), which is now available for public comment: mpsc.nsw.gov.au/hot-topics/docman/submissions-exhibitions/2829-draft-community-strategic-plan-2036-23-04-25pdf/file.

The Community Strategic Plan, called Our Moree Plains – Our Vision to 2036, is a document that identifies the priorities and goals for the Shire for the next 10 years. Under the NSW Office of Local Government’s Integrated Planning and Reporting Guidelines, Council is required to review the plan with the community after each Local Government Election.

Mayor, Cr Susannah Pearse thanked all community members who took the time to come to community meetings or complete the survey which guided the development of the Plan.

“Our councillors and team have worked hard traveling across the shire in the past few months to ensure that as many community members as possible had their chance to have their say,” said Cr Pearse.

“This document is Council’s overarching Strategic Plan. Everything that Council does over the next term must be in line with this document and the priorities it sets. As such I encourage every resident to view the plan and let us know where we’ve got it right, and where we need to take another look at it.”

Community members can have their say by:

  • Email: council@mpsc.nsw.gov.au with the subject line Community Strategic Plan;
  • Mail to PO Box 420, Moree NSW 2400

Public exhibition closes at 5pm on Wednesday 28 May 2025.
