Inverell Rotary Club will once again hold their Charity Open Golf Day. Now in its 29th year the event is a popular staple on the community calendar. It will be held next weekend Sunday April 27 from 10.30am.
Helen Tickle, President of the Inverell Rotary Club said, “This year has been a bit tricky because all the public holiday weekends are so close together but we’ve already had 70 people register and hope to see many more – last year we had 120 and we’d love to see that many entrants again.”
The event will follow a similar format to previous years, running as a 3 person Ambrose Handicap which allows all standards of golfers to play together. The competition is open to both males and females.
Cost of entry is just $40 per person, which covers your green fees, and lunch at the clubhouse.
“We like to try and change which local charity we support each year and this year we’ve selected the Salvation Army and Food for the Soul,” said Ms Tickle.
There will also be a raffle held on the day.
“We’ve got lots of really fantastic prizes this year and are so grateful for all the community support so far. We’ve already raised $7000,” Ms Tickle said.
Attendees need to meet at the clubhouse before 10am for a shotgun start at 10.30am.
Late entries are welcome, but pre-registration is preferred for catering purposes. To register, contact the Inverell Golf Club on 02 6722 1574, or call Ms Tickle direct on 0412 226 281.
