Sydney Youth Orchestras (SYO) is brining its Regional Tour as part of the 2025 Youth Orchestral Camp to the New England.

From April 23-27, over 200 talented young musicians will embark on a musical journey to Armidale and surrounding communities, Glen Innes and Inverell, teaming up with regional musicians to bring orchestral excellence to regional New South Wales.

SYO’s five-day residential camp will culminate in a series of captivating performances featuring SYO’s premier ensembles: The Symphonic Wind Orchestra, Peter Seymour Orchestra, Western Sydney Youth Orchestra, and Richard Gill Chamber Orchestra – all powered by SYO.

These concerts will showcase the extraordinary talent of Australia’s next generation of musicians while fostering meaningful connections with regional communities.

A highlight of the tour will be the final performance at the University of New England’s Lazenby Hall on Sunday, April 27, featuring piano soloist Stefanie Robu performing the first movement of Clara Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A minor.

This performance is part of SYO’s collaboration with Piano Plus, an initiative designed to provide exceptional performance opportunities for young pianists.

“We’re incredibly excited to bring the SYO experience to regional NSW,” said Mia Patoulios, CEO of Sydney Youth Orchestras.

“These performances not only showcase the extraordinary talent of our young musicians but also create meaningful cultural exchanges with regional musicians and their communities. The opportunity to collaborate with local musicians enriches everyone’s musical journey.”
