Tamworth Regional Council has welcomed Roz Pappalardo as the new Manager, Entertainment Venues.
In April, Ms Pappalardo will relocate to Tamworth from Darwin, heading up the team that oversees Tamworth Regional Entertainment Conference Centre (TRECC), Capitol Theatre Tamworth, Tamworth Town Hall and Tamworth Community Event Centre.
Ms Pappalardo will replace Peter Ross, who has worked for Entertainment Venues for 16 years, initially as the Director of the Capitol Theatre from 2009 to 2012 and then as Manager. It comes following Mr Ross’s progression to Executive Manager – Creative Communities & Experiences at Tamworth Regional Council.
With a career in the arts spanning more than two decades, Ms Pappalardo brings a wealth of experience in cultural leadership and event management. Her diverse skill set stems across festival management, event programming, creative production, touring, and original content development.
Currently living in Darwin, Ms Pappalardo has worked tirelessly to breathe new life into Darwin Entertainment Centre’s event calendar through the inaugural Darwin Comedy Festival and bringing a plethora music to the venue’s stage. Previously she worked for Hobart’s Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) and MONA FOMA, an annual music and arts festival held in Tasmania.
Ms Pappalardo also comes with experience in local government, having worked at Cairns Regional Council. She was a driving force behind the emergence of Cairns as a leading contemporary music touring destination, through vibrant programming at Cairns Performing Arts Centre, the Court House Gallery and Tanks Arts Centre. At the same time, her influence over the trajectory of Cairns Festival saw audiences more than double, on the strength of which she went on to found the Cairns Children’s Festival.
“I am pleased to welcome Roz to Tamworth and feel confident passing the baton over. Roz is an extremely versatile and talented leader, who is highly respected in the Australian creative and performing arts industry.” said Peter Ross.
“She is also a multi-talented creative and an accomplished musician, songwriter and theatre maker and her passion for alt-country music bodes well in Australia’s Capital of Country.”
Tamworth’s Entertainment Venues are an important part of Tamworth’s culture, providing entertainment to locals and visitors all year round. 32 events made up of local and touring productions form the 2025 season for Entertainment Venues, with many more shows scheduled throughout the year.
