The glitz and the glamour of the NRL’s Las Vegas return will be showcased on big screens across the New England today.
There are several locations across Tamworth to catch the game, including West Tamworth Leagues Club.
Member for Tamworth and Deputy Chair of Parliamentary Friends of Rugby League Kevin Anderson said the office NRL Vegas Watch Party event was one of just 22 hosted by ClubsNSW across the state.
“Tamworth is rugby league country with thousands of local fans and players who are passionate about the game they love,” Mr Anderson said.
“The NRL’s return to Las Vegas represents to start of the 2025 season, and to celebrate, Wests Leagues will be hosting the biggest watch party in the region.”
“Grassroots rugby league is so important to the health of the game in our region, which is why it’s important that events like this continue to catch the eye of local fans.”
“I’m encouraging local avid rugby league fans to pull together a few mates to watch the games on the big screen on Sunday.”
The West Leagues Club will be hosting the games on their Legends terrace from 10am to 6pm today, Sunday March 2, with 2009 NRL Premiership winner Adam Blair and sports presenter Glen Hawke joining local fans.
Fans in attendance can take part in competitions throughout the day for the chance to win an all-expenses paid trip for two to Las Vegas for the NRL season launch in 2026, among other prizes. American themed food and beverage options will be available throughout the day.
Wests Entertainment Group’s Chief Communications Officer Paddy Donnelly said the club was excited to be a part of the initiative.
“We’re proud to be a part of this initiative with ClubsNSW, giving fans a great place to come together and enjoy the NRL season kick-off,” Mr Donnelly said.
“It’s set to be a great day at Wests, and we’re looking forward to welcoming members and guests in for the games, live entertainment, and some exciting giveaways.”
