Macca’s Chocolate Soft Serve and 600mL Cool Ridge Water were popular choices of refreshments during this year’s Toyota 53rd Tamworth Country Music Festival, with all proceeds from sales being donated to a good cause!

Over the 10-day event, festivalgoers helped raised a whopping $13,386.50, more than a 93 per cent increase from 2024.

A cheque with the donation has been presented to Ronald McDonald House in Tamworth which provides a ‘home away from home’ for families with seriously ill or injured children and their families, while undergoing treatment or surgery in hospital.

Each year, more than 200 families are welcomed into Ronald McDonald House Tamworth, with most travelling from the New England North West region. All funds raised go towards helping RMHC continue to support families in need through Ronald McDonald Houses, Family Rooms, Family Retreats, Hospitality Carts and Learning Program to support families through and after their child’s illness or injury.

“This is our second year of having the Soft Serve Van at the Tamworth Country Musical Festival and we almost doubled our donation figure through our iconic Chocolate Soft Serves and Cool Ridge Water!” said Adrian Sippel, Licensee for McDonald’s restaurants in Tamworth.

“We are so incredibly proud to be a part of the Tamworth community who continue to give back to those who need it most, supporting families of seriously ill or injured children at Ronald McDonald House Tamworth.”

Chocolate Soft Serves were a highlight of the Macca’s Activation, which took place alongside the Macca’s Stage in the Fitzroy Plaza during the Tamworth Country Music Festival.

As well as being entertained by daily performances, festivalgoers enjoyed snapping a photo on the Macca’s Golden Arch Swing, playing the Big Mac Stack game and growing their own Macca’s lettuce seed boxes.

This year’s Golden Gig, sponsored by Macca’s talent quest which took place on the Macca’s Stage attracted more than 90 entrants aged 18 and under from right across Australia and beyond.

“We are thankful for the ongoing support from McDonald’s Australia. Not only does its contribution continue to help boost the confidence and artistry of young emerging talent, but funds raised through the activation will be injected straight back into the Tamworth community to help families of seriously ill or injured children at Ronald McDonald House Northern New South Wales.” said Festival Manager Barry Harley.
