Tamworth Pistol Club can now host regional, state, national and international level events thanks to the completion of range safety upgrades.
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson says the club had met NSW Firearms Registry Range Safety Design requirements thanks to a $50,000 grant from the Safe Shooting Grant Program.
“Tamworth Pistol Club now has some international level facilities, thanks to the hard work and dedication of the committee, as well as almost 300 members who regularly contribute to the club,” Mr Anderson said.
“Following the completion of a major upgrade project last year, the club were able to host a successful competition, which brought participants from across New South Wales and Australia to Tamworth to compete.”
“These upgrades would have never happened without the hard work and commitment of the committee and members who continue to donate time and energy to building an outstanding facility.”
Tamworth Pistol Club Treasurer and Project Manager Rodney Loftus says the range upgrades were well used at the club’s competition in October.
“Competitors were very happy with the finish of the range, and I’ll say they’ll be wanting to come back to shoot more,” Mr Loftus said.
“Tamworth Pistol Club would like to thank our local member for the continued support and also local business houses that quietly and generously provide continuous economic and work-in-kind support to voluntary sporting associations in our local community.”
