As the region heats up this summer, Guyra is inviting everyone to cool down and experience the best the small town has to offer with the annual Guyra Lamb & Potato Festival back for 2025.

President of the Guyra Lamb & Potato Festival committee Steve Mepham says if you are looking for some fun and entertainment, escape the heat and come find Guyra.

“The festival is right on the highway, so you cannot miss it,” said Mepham.

“It is a lovely spot to stop under the elm trees and wander through the 35 stalls booked in for our markets.”

The 12-day festival kicks off on January 15th and will run through until the 26th, boasting 28 different acts throughout events and plenty of opportunity to soak up some tunes.

“We have only one musician from away, the rest are all locals and some really quality stuff there.”

Saturday January 25th will host the main events including the hotly attended Guyra show n’ shine.

“The car show usually attracts about 160 to 180 cars and bikes.” said Mepham.

“At the same time as that, we’ll have the antique machinery rally over on the southern end of the site.”

While many old faithful events will return this year, organisers have confirmed the popular little rail trike event will be missin, as they continue to address safety concerns with the track.

“A lot of people want to know if the trikes running, unfortunately we’ve got to say this year it won’t be.”

But don’t let that deter you, there are still plenty of activities for everyone all thanks to the support from the local community.

“It’s a big job and without the support of the community we certainly wouldn’t be able to host it, and if people come and visit and spend some money we get to put more back into the community,”

“So, please come and enjoy Guyra.”
