The Armidale Ute Show will bring enthusiasts from across the country in a celebration of vehicles, mateship, and fun when it revs up at the Armidale Showgrounds on March 8 next year.

The event, which has been running for about a decade, showcases a variety of ute styles, makes and models.

“It’s always great catching up with mates who I don’t get to see very often and seeing different makes you don’t often see,” Organiser Adam Tadman said.

The Armidale Ute Show attracts competitors from near and far, with utes rolling in from Lithgow, Queensland, and beyond.

“They come from all over,” Mr Tadman said.

“A lot of competitors know each other from B ‘n’ S balls, and if you have good prizes, you bring in good competitors.”

The event typically sees 40 to 50 utes entered each year across categories such as B ‘n’ S Utes, 4WDs, Holdens, and Fords. Entry fees start at $10, which covers the first category and gate fee. Additional main categories are $10 each, with sub-categories priced at $5.

The grass events are a highlight, offering plenty of action for competitors and spectators alike.

“Grass events could include Barrel Racing or Go to Whoa,” Mr Tadman said.

“And there could be the bark-off for the loudest exhaust in each category.”

Mr Tadman believes the appeal of utes lies in their versatility and the camaraderie among their owners.

“They’re all-round good vehicles,” he said.

“You can throw a swag in the back and go camping or load it up with junk for the tip or fill them with your friends, and you always have fun with them.”

Entries for the show open on the day, making it accessible for last-minute participants.

The Armidale Ute Show is held in conjunction with the Armidale Show, with Adam also serving on the executive committee of the larger event. Ute enthusiasts can find more information on the Armidale Ute Show Facebook page.

Whether you’re a ute owner or a fan, this year’s Armidale Ute Show promises plenty of revs, laughs, and unforgettable memories.
