Officers attached to New England Police District attended and were told an unknown male – armed with a firearm and wearing all black, with his face covered – entered a business and threatened two employees – a 22-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man.
The man demanded money, before running from the scene with cash, and fortunately no one was physically injured in the incident.
Police established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Moree Mayor Susannah Pearse extended her sympathies to the victims of the crime, and said she was traveling to Sydney today to meet with both state Member of Parliament and the Premier to ensure community concerns and expectations are heard by the decision-makers responsible at a state government level.
“Moree Plains Shire Council is determined to advocate for getting the state government policing and justice policies right, so that our township’s businesses and people are protected.”
The incident comes just days after the newly elected Mayor took to social media to ask people to stop sharing unconfirmed reports of crime that are often untrue, and do damage to the region’s reputation.
