October is Small Business Month! And to celebrate, we’re highlighting some of the great small businesses we have throughout the region.

Today is the last day of small business month! And we saved three you’ve probably never heard of for the final day – homegrown and handmade products, a equine masseuse and therapist, and the ultimate in mobile coffee carts.

Ridgestead 🖥️

Ridgestead started as a way to supply Bundarra with delicious fresh produce and pastured free-range eggs, but we quickly realised that natural handcrafted products would also be a perfect fit for our micro-business.

All of our produce is grown using organic permaculture methods, and our handcrafted products are artisan-made using locally sourced and/ or natural ingredients, where possible.

Ridgestead is owned and run by Tamara, a stay at home mum, with the help of her husband, and their two young children. We offer seasonal organically-grown heirloom vegetables, pastured free-range eggs, and artisan-crafted natural products.

You can follow our Facebook page for updates, and check out our products on our new website — shipping is coming soon.

From our family to yours, we hope you love our homegrown and handmade products just as much as we do!

Redleif Cryotherapy and Massage 🖥️

Leyell Fielder, owner of Redleif Cryotherapy and Massage, is an internationally certified equine sports massage therapist with over 17 years of experience.

They offer equine sports massage and cryotherapy to support horses in alleviating muscle soreness. Based on techniques learned in the USA, her approach is distinct from those commonly practiced in Australia, focusing on targeted pressure point massage to relieve tension and enhance flexibility.

Routine massages, scheduled every 4-6 weeks, are recommended for long-term performance improvements, as horses gradually release tension and regain flexibility. Each horse responds uniquely, and while some show immediate changes, others may take time, especially those dealing with chronic stiffness affecting their posture and performance.

For competitive horses, pre-event massages (five days prior) maximises their capabilities, while post-event treatments assist with lactic acid removal, supporting swift recovery.

For owners seeking improved movement and well-being in their horses, equine sports massage therapy and cryotherapy from Redleif offers a natural, effective option.

Floatin Around 🖥️

Floatin Around is a timber horse float converted into a coffee trailer, serving delicious Merlo coffee.

Catering for all sports events, school carnivals, concerts, Any event, conference or get together you need coffee we can be there. With Floatin Around running off grid, this makes us more flexible for location.
Tell us a little about who owns and runs this business

My name is Mel. I own and run this business. I love making coffee and backing sweet treats. And meeting new people from all walks of life.

Floatin Around running off grid is a great unique feature which allows us to go anywhere from the middle of a paddock to the beach.

Throughout October, we’ll run stories highlighting the great local businesses we have right here in our communities. This is a free service – the businesses highlighted have not paid for this story.
