Just like many pubs and clubs are holding Halloween parties the night after the spooky date, the Tamworth Network Group will host a free all-inclusive fancy dress dance party on November 1.

The Tamworth Network Group was formed by Enlarge Living after the disbanding of the SCAN group, which had served the area for many years. The group aims to promote inclusion and raise awareness about the experiences of people living with disabilities in Australia.

The dance party is being held on Friday, November 1, from 6pm to 9pm at The Chapel, 30 Anne St, and is an opportunity for those with and without disabilities to come together in a non-formal setting to simply have fun.

Attendees are invited to come dressed to impress or in fancy dress, with music, food, and entertainment suitable for all ages and families at the fully accessible event.

“It is important we work to ensure everyday inclusion for the 4.3 million Australians living with disability,” said Margaret Wilson, a representative of the Tamworth Network Group.

“Together we can start a conversation about the issues experienced by people with disability to help to make our community more inclusive.”

The event is fully accessible, and people with disabilities, along with their families and carers, are encouraged to attend. An RSVP is required for entry.

“Our event is accessible and we encourage all people with disability, their families, and carers to come along and join the fun,” said Wilson.

The Tamworth Network Group extended thanks to local businesses and organisations that helped make the event possible through donations and support. Sponsors and supporters include Rotary Sunrise, Dominoes, Silver Lining Disability Services, BMR Quarries and Roadwork Industries, IGA, Rotary Club Tamworth, Enlarge Living, The Chapel Tamworth, and Disability Consulting Support.
