Join the Ben Lomond Landcare Group and the Guyra Landcare Network for a Picnic in Nature at the stunning Little Llangothlin Nature Reserve on Sunday, 20th October.

“We are very excited to host our second annual Picnic in Nature,” said Elizabeth Rosser from Southern New England Landcare.

“The event is part of a simultaneous picnic coordinated by the Nature Conservation Council across NSW.”

Little Llangothlin Lagoon and surrounding wetlands are internationally recognised, a RAMSAR-listed wetland that provides a haven for nature lovers.

Located on the New England Tablelands, between Guyra and Glen Innes, the reserve boasts rare upland wetlands and is home to diverse wildlife, including threatened species like the Australian bittern and migratory waterbirds.

Visitors can explore the unique ecosystem while enjoying a walk through the reserve’s open grasslands, eucalypt woodlands, and water-filled lagoons.

After soaking in the natural beauty, relax with a free BBQ lunch, thanks to the Armidale Regional Council.

This is an excellent opportunity to appreciate one of the region’s ecological treasures while connecting with the local community.

Bring your picnic rug, hats, sunscreen, binoculars, and a sense of adventure.

Everyone is welcome, for more information and to RSVP, please contact Southern New England Landcare (SNEL) 02 6772 9123 or visit the SNEL events page: https://snelandcare.org.au/group-events.html.

This project is made possible by the NSW Landcare Enabling Program, a collaboration between Local Land Services and Landcare NSW. This project received funding from the Armidale Regional Council.
