WTC Group is hosting their second annual WTC Charity Golf Day on Saturday, 26 October 2024, at the Narrabri Golf Club.

Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, the charity golf day will once again showcase teams of four competing in an 18-hole Ambrose format, with major prizes to be won.

WTC Managing Director, Will Childs, says they are looking forward to this year’s event, which will feature an impressive lineup of eight NRL celebrities, giving teams the chance to play alongside a celebrity through a pre-event auction.

“We’re excited to host the second annual WTC Charity Golf Day, with funds raised helping our community members access local mental health services.”

“We were amazed by the incredible support from businesses and the wider community in 2023, and we’re excited to deliver another fun-filled day on the green while raising funds.”

“Team registrations for the golf event have sold out, but there will still be plenty of fun at the clubhouse, with live DJ’s creating a lively atmosphere. The popular ‘party hole’ will return, and after the golf wraps up, anyone can buy in to join the nearest-to-the-pin competition.”

Funds raised from the 2023 event were dedicated to mental health initiatives, including providing free local counselling sessions for Narrabri Shire residents. Will noted that the 2023 funds, allocated to support residents through Boundless Psychology, made a significant impact, with the resources fully utilised in just over 100 days.

“Giving our community a free and accessible option to assist them in improving their mental health was a key goal and motivator behind the first charity golf day. These funds have provided 75 counselling sessions to locals.”

“Given the high demand for these services funded in 2023, we are committed to ensuring that locals have access to mental health support without cost being a barrier. Funds raised from our 2024 event will help us continue providing this essential service to even more community members.”

Alongside the Charity Golf Day, a special meet and greet event titled “Battle Scars and Footy Stars” will take place on Friday, 25 October, at the Narrabri RSL Club. This event offers a unique opportunity to meet and hear from the NRL legends participating in the Golf Day. Tickets are priced at $60 and include a complimentary drink upon arrival, footy snacks served to each table, with a portion of the proceeds generously donated to the WTC Charity Golf Day.

This is an excellent chance for NRL fans to mingle with past and present NRL stars and ask them questions as they share career stories in a laid-back, interactive panel session.

This is an 18+ event with tickets available through Trybooking.
