Anyone who works on the land knows how precious time is and how complex the needs of agricultural business can be.

GrazAg has positioned itself as a true one stop shop for New England’s graziers, providing quality products and exceptional service and advice across the full gamut of farming needs.

“We opened our first store in Armidale in 2010 with an idea to combine extensive experience with a great range of rural merchandise,” Kellie Litchfield from GrazAg said.

From here GrazAg quickly established itself as a real strength to the community, with another two stores opening in Guyra and Glen Innes to provide more coverage for the region.

“I think there’s two reasons we’ve been a success, firstly because we’re independent and the community really values that, and secondly because we understand that, for our graziers, when they need things, they need them now so we always try to make sure we have the stock available for them,” said Mrs Litchfield.

GrazAg offers basically everything farmers and landholders need from fertilisers, general farm supplies and fencing, all the way through to livestock supplies, chemicals and irrigation needs.

The team doesn’t just rest on the idea of pure retail supply, they also pride themselves in providing exceptional advice.

“We employ 20 permanent staff across our three locations, plus casuals,” said Mrs Litchfield.

“We have agronomists in each store and we also have specialist staff across a wide range of areas including fertilisers, fencing and animal health.”

The ability to provide these specialist services mean that the GrazAg team can offer additional services such as full soil, water and leaf tissue testing as well as management programs and budgeting assistance.

Testing and advice can be offered in store or on site.

“We’ve recently purchased a few trucks too so for bigger orders we can also now provide a delivery service,” said Mrs Litchfield.

Becoming one of the region’s only seed suppliers is one of the more recent additions to GrazAg’s already very full suite of services.

“The seed supplier in Armidale closed down so we stepped in to fill the gap and can provide seed solutions for grasses, paddocks, really anything farmers might need,” said Mrs Litchfield.

There’s no such thing as a guarantee in agriculture and GrazAg do their best to support local farmers through the ups and downs.

“Commodities are so very fluid – be it weather or the price of stock – there’s so many variables,” said Mrs Litchfield.

“We aim to keep ahead of what’s going on in the markets so we can provide the best possible service and advice and the most relevant products to support the farmers who support us.”

In recognition of how valuable the community is to them, GrazAg go out of their way to not only support farmers, but to support the broader New England community as a whole.

“We try to be really involved and sponsor as much as we can to help support the community – local sporting teams, campdrafts, art – we really love being able to give back,” said Mrs Litchfield.

Mrs Litchfield also wanted to recognised the contribution of the GrazAg team

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank our staff – we have incredible staff retention and so many of them have been with us for such a long time – we couldn’t do it without them.”
