The Links for Life Disability Expo has become a highlight of the year for local disability services, but the number of new businesses and services attending today’s event is set to make this year’s expo extra special.

Rainbow Club is a network of social swimming clubs for children and young adults with disabilities, and started a new club in Tamworth this year. As well as new participants, they are hoping to recruit some teachers and volunteers.

“We are seeking passionate and experienced teachers, dedicated volunteers, and enthusiastic trainees for our Train to Teach program.”

Imperial Health Care (IHC), a newly registered NDIS provider dedicated to delivering quality services to individuals living with disabilities in Tamworth, says they’re looking forward to connecting with the community.

“Just connecting with people with disability and their families and listening to their requirements and experiences will be wonderful,” Sijo from IHC said.

Kiralee from Absolute Care and Social Support, another new Tamworth business who offer a range of services and great social activities to help fight isolation, is also looking forward to the event for the first time.

“We love to see our members enjoying themselves by laughing and joining in on all the amazing activities they get to experience. We would love to see you come and enjoy our space too!”

BAM Disability Services is from the tiny village of Rocky River, near Uralla, and will be making the trip to Tamworth for their first ever Links for Life Expo.

“This is BAM’s first event, we are hoping to build on what we currently are doing,” Jen from BAM said.

And of course there will be plenty of favourites too. Aruma, who support around 5000 people across Australia’s East Coast with complex care needs, will be there as always – and they’re bringing the food this year, as well as a new service.

“We would love to talk about Club Aruma! We will also be on the BBQ, come say hi and grab a snag!”

Support Agency, another larger provider, will also be there, talking about their experience and individualised care plans.

“We are proud to serve the New England community from our Tamworth office, offering reliable and accessible support to those who need it most,” the Support Agency team said.

There are 88 exhibitors this year, which is a record for the event. The Links for Life Disability Expo is on today, Thursday September 19, at the Tamworth Sports Dome from 9.30am.
