Entertainment Venues is proud to host Sensorium Theatre, presenting Wonderbox.

Sensorium Theatre is Australia’s only company making live shows specifically designed for young audiences with disability.

North West children and families will experience the magic of curiosity, choice and celebration in this one-of-a-kind performance held at Tamworth’s Town Hall from today, Wednesday 28 August through Saturday 31 August.

Wonderbox invites children to roll the dice and set out along a safe, exhilarating pathway into the unknown. Set inside a giant puzzle-box of illusions, actors lead audiences into an immersive multi-sensory wonderland with large scale projections and live music.

Every child’s curiosity is celebrated during Wonderbox. The intentionally small audiences are onstage with the actors. Each performance is tailored to the needs of those watching. For example, if a child is sensitive to light or noise, the actors will create a quiet experience just for them.

Peter Ross, Executive Manager – Creative Communities & Experiences at Tamworth Regional Council is excited to bring Wonderbox to Tamworth – the first of its kind to be presented at Entertainment Venues.

“This production provides meaningful and bespoke experiences for children with special needs. It’s highly visual with a rich aural environment and many opportunities for individual engagement and interaction through the senses,” Mr Ross said.
