Whitehaven Coal Group 4 Rugby League is helping provide funds to outfit the teenage players in the Group 4 Development Program.

The Group 4 Under 14 and 15 boys teams as well as the Group 4 Under 14 and 16 girls teams will all benefit from the $2000 provision.

Group 4 chairman Clarence “Lad” Jones said any junior players could nominate for the four sides and would be helped by Group 4’s payment towards their expenses, notably football shorts and jumpers.

“We are also having a Cluster weekend in Armidale on September 28,” said Lad Jones.

The four teams will also play development squads from Group 19 and 21 as well. Todd Wilson has done a big job driving this.”

Werris Creek first grade skipper Cody Tickle, is also involved and is coach of the G4 Under 15 boy’s side and said the development sides run hand in glove with the RISE program which has more development days. One ran over the weekend with another three available on September 6, 20 and 28.
