The former member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall has joined local agronomy and carbon consultancy firm Precision Pastures as an independent advisor.
The well-like MP shocked many when he announced his unexpected exit from politics earlier this year, triggering a by-election in the very safe Nationals seat.
“I am passionate about public policy and how to make things better – I see significant opportunities and frameworks for producers to maximise production and economic benefits through soil carbon farming,” Mr Marshall said.
“What Precision Pastures is doing in this space is tremendous and the company’s growth trajectory evidence that. It is an exciting time for both Precision Pastures and agriculture.”
Mr Marshall joined sustainable agriculture advocate Olivia Lawson of Paringa Livestock who also joined the firm as an independent advisor.
Ms Lawson is a strong advocate for a sustainable future in agriculture. For the past two decades she has partnered in a seed stock cattle business based in central Victoria, with a focus on ecology, holistic grazing systems and sustainable land management, while producing efficient, highly-productive genetics for beef producers across Australia. Ms Lawson currently serves on the Board of Directors for Soils for Life and the North Central Catchment Management Authority.

The company announcement this week described the appointments as a strategic move which underscores the company’s commitment to advancing agricultural practices through soil, pasture and carbon farming initiatives.
Precision Pastures executive director and CEO Hamish Webb said the company was thrilled to welcome two distinguished leaders into the fold.
