A new winter campaign has been launched by the Inverell Chamber of Commerce in an effort to help local businesses boost their trade before the end of the financial year and leading up to the Town Wide Sale.

The “Choose You” campaign officially kicked off June 11 and has four categories, Choose You, Choose to Explore and Relax, Choose to Spoil and Choose Home.

New video content and social media marketing will drop regularly to highlight different businesses in each category.

Laura Cush, the promotion coordinator contracted to the Inverell Chamber of Commerce, said the goal is to put “a spotlight” on the diverse businesses across the town and help drive more people to the area “through retail.”

“Every business is struggling at the moment, and this campaign is the Chamber’s way of showing when times are tough, we are here to support them,” she said.

“In the past, we have done others, a Week of Frenzy, $7000 Reasons to Spend in Inverell Christmas, but nothing along these lines, where we’ve actually brought in professional videographers to showcase business in this sort of light,” Laura added.

According to Laura, this is only stage one leading up to the end of the financial year on June 30. The next phase will focus on the agricultural and industry sectors in months before AgQuip in August.

AgQuip in Gunnedah is Australia’s most significant primary industry field day and one of the largest agricultural events in the world.

Laura says Inverell has”pretty much everything,” and the “Choose You” campaign will highlight that to ensure everyone else knows it too.

“Inverell has agriculture, retail, accommodation, nightlife, nice restaurants, and so much more to make it appealing,” she said.

“It’s sort of a little bit of the city in the country; letting people know that it’s pretty much anything you need in one area is a key part of this campaign.”

At the same time, Laura says the goal is to show members of the Inverell Chamber of Commerce the local organisation is fighting tooth and nail for their best interests.

“We’re continually doing things within the Chamber to ensure our members that when times are tough, we’re right behind them, showing support,” she said.

“In the last 12 months or so, we have really been focussing on initiatives to boost local trade without costing local businesses.

The “Choose You” campaign  has also come at no cost to local business, it’s been completely funded by the Chamber.”
