Keen primary school aged netballers are in luck these school holidays because Netball NSW is holding a clinic for 5 to 10 year olds next Wednesday April 24 at the Glen Innes Indoor Sports Facility at 179 West Avenue.

According to the Netball NSW website, the two hour clinic will run from 10am to 12pm and is described as “lots of fun and exercise in a safe environment.”

Netball NSW North West Regional Manager Lauren Smart says that aside from being fun, the clinics focus on the social aspects of sports, improving skills, coordination, learning to work in a team, and increasing self confidence.

“Our clinics are designed to immerse players of all skill levels in netball, particularly our NetSetGO Program aimed 5 to 10 year olds,” she said.

“It’s the perfect way for your kids to spend a few hours, burn off some energy all while having fun and learning new skills.”

Smart says these clinics are run in conjunction with local associations that often attend to promote their local upcoming competitions, in this case, the Glen Innes Netball Association.

According to her, another plus for attending the clinics is the coaches are highly experienced in their craft and teaching all skill levels. All 5 to 10 year olds are welcome to sign up, regardless of whether it’s their first time or if they have a few games under their belt already.

“Whether your child is a seasoned netball enthusiast or a curious beginner, our School Holiday Netball Clinic offers an inclusive and supportive environment for all,” Smart said.

“We have experienced coaches taking players through a series of interactive drills and friendly matches to develop their netball skills with the hope they may continue their netball journey at their local association,” she added.

Along with Glenn Innes, another clinic has already taken place in Gunnedah. Smart says all the clinics held by Netball NSW have seen an increase in participation since last year, so it’s important to register.

Registration for the School Holiday Netball Clinic are now open, with limited spots available. The cost is listed as $25 per child.
