Hard work, dedication and community spirit is behind the new clubhouse of the Manilla Pistol Club, which has been officially opened.
The club was awarded a $14,500 grant from the Local Sports Grant Program, which assisted in funding upgrades to the facilities including new baffles for the range.
“The Manilla Pistol club is an important volunteer-run asset for club members and the wider community,” said Mr Kevin Anderson, Member for Tamworth.
“The land the club sits on was originally donated by the Maxwell family and since that time the club has been working to improve the facilities on site to ensure the club is accessible for all members.
“The continual upgrade of facilities is a must for any sporting organisation because it increases interest and participation in the sport,”
“The committee and members have shown extraordinary commitment in their goal of building a successful club with a strong membership which is why the former government supported their application to assist in upgrading their facilities.
“That facility is now built and operational and the committee are looking forward to hosting an open day in the future to help increase membership numbers and contribute to the popularity of the sport.
“I congratulate the committee and their members on the significant amount of work put into their new facility and look forward to supporting the club in future.”
