- Premier’s NSW Woman of Excellence Award

- NSW Aboriginal Woman of the Year Award
- NSW Young Woman of the Year Award (ages 16-30 year old)
- Ones to Watch Showcase (ages 7-15 years old)
NSW Young Woman of the Year 2023, Chanel Contos, successfully petitioned to mandate holistic sexual consent education in every Australian school, from kindergarten to Year 10, through her Teach Us Consent movement.
“Much of my work aims to amplify the voices of young women, who often involve themselves in community action with little to no acknowledgement, so I felt so privileged to be recognised in such a special way,” Chanel said.
Since winning the NSW Young Woman of the Year Award, Chanel was selected by former prime minister Julia Gillard to head a youth committee for the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership, asked to speak at a conference in London in June, and published her first book, ‘Consent Laid Bare’.
Nominations close 11:59pm, Tuesday 24 October 2023. You can nominate an inspiration woman you know at the NSW Government website https://www.nsw.gov.au/women-nsw/awards-and-events/nsw-women-of-year-awards
