Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson is calling on local councils and community groups to make the 2024 NSW Women’s Week one to remember by applying for a NSW Women’s Week Grant by October 9.

Mr Anderson said the grant opportunity had been open for several years, providing local groups with an opportunity to hold new and unique events and activities that have benefitted local women.

“NSW Women’s week is about celebrating the outstanding contributions our women make to our community, while empowering future generations to achieve great things,” Mr Anderson said.

“Past events have hosted nationally renowned keynote speakers, offered opportunities for networking, and celebrated local achievement.

“I hope to see more of the same as part of next year’s NSW Women’s Week, with a total of $300,000 available to organisations across NSW to hold events.”

NSW Women’s Week will be celebrated between Monday 4 March and Sunday 10 March 2024 to coincide with International Women’s Day on 8 March 2024.

Two Tiers of grants are available to local organisations including:

Tier 1 – is an open competitive round to fund events or activities from $5,000 to a maximum of $10,0000 per applicant, with a $100,000 allocation

Tier 2 – is a closed, competitive- by invitation only grant. Targeted to organisations are invited to apply to deliver a larger scale event from $30,000 to a maximum of $200,0000. Women NSW is directly inviting organisations to apply.

“I know our local CWA’s, community-based organisations and councils will be looking at this opportunity with interest and I look forward to supporting them in their application.

Applications close on 9 October 2023 and can be made online.
