The Uralla Shire Business Chamber has been actively working with the specialty stores in the main street of Uralla this week to showcase the vibrant small community and stimulate activity through the main street precinct.

The impetus of this week’s business promotion is the Business Chamber taking advantage of their rostered allocation in the ‘Uralla Street Store’. Uralla’s Street Store is an institution in Uralla’s main street. The ‘pop-up’ style shopfront, managed by the Uralla Shire Council, is a space for community groups to promote awareness of their cause as well as raising funds to continue their support of their community. For the week of 3rd to 9th of July the Street Store has been allocated to the Uralla Shire Business Chamber, who are using this week to strengthen ties with the businesses in the main street, to promote the small but vibrant community and to connect with the local businesses in a novel way.

“The Uralla Shire Business Chamber wanted to take advantage of this opportunity to connect with these local businesses in a meaningful way to build a stronger relationship and to show how the Business Chamber can work with businesses to strengthen their voice in the community “, said Ms Beth Platford, coordinator of the Uralla Main Street Promotion.

“We wanted to go that extra step and provide an active engagement between the businesses and the community, both locals and visitors to our town. We have tried to find a way to promote each participating business with minimal impact to their daily operations, while encouraging the public to experience the amazing offerings of these businesses.” Ms Platford continued.

“The question was how to encourage people to physically go into these businesses to see and experience what they have to offer and why our main street is worth spending a little more time to explore rather than just a quick lunch stop. What we have devised is a promotion called ‘The Numbers Game’.”

“Each participating business has a number inside their store. People simply need to match each participating business name with the number in their store. Entry forms with all participating businesses names listed can be collected from the Business Chamber representatives at the Street Store each day until Saturday 8th July. Once all the business names have been matched to their number, entry forms should be returned to the Street Store. We have also posted a few QR code links to a digital version of the entry form at various locations along the Main Street to help make this promotion more accessible, and even easier to get involved with.”

“As an incentive for people to get involved with this promotion, we are offering one amazing prize package of a Gorge Discovery helicopter flight for two people by Fleet Helicopters of Armidale as well as two nights accommodation for two people, including breakfast each day, at the Bushranger Motor Inn of Uralla. The total value of this prize is $1300!  This is an incredible prize, providing one lucky winner with a getaway to remember.”

“The Business Chamber has been overwhelmed by the support from the businesses of the main street, who have all been so enthusiastic about working together as a community to see this promotion come to fruition. It has been a fantastic opportunity to work together to showcase the unique and innovative specialty stores of Uralla’s main street. We are also grateful for the support of our major sponsors, Fleet Helicopters and The Bushranger Motor Inn, who have helped contribute to supporting our local community.”

The Uralla Main Street Promotion – The Numbers Game is currently underway but will end today, Saturday 8th July.

There is still time to get involved, to support the small but vibrant community of Uralla and for your chance to win an amazing Uralla getaway. Visit Uralla and see the Uralla Shire Business Chamber in the Uralla Street Store to find out how the Business Chamber can help support your business. They are also running a fantastic raffle with prizes contributed by some great local businesses.
