Kitchen table conversations movement ‘Together, Yes’ will be holding a ‘Northern Tablelands for Yes’ meeting on Wednesday 28 June 2023 at 5.30pm at Kent House in Faulkner Street, Armidale.

‘Together, Yes’ “invites people from all walks of life to gather in small group discussion and engage in an honest reckoning of the harm and injustice of our colonial past; Australia’s history of constitutional indifference; and how a Voice to parliament can make a difference.”

Later this year, all Australians above the age of 18 will participate in a referendum concerning the recognition of First Peoples of Australia in the Constitution. The Yes campaign encourages voters to vote ‘yes’ in the referendum to recognise Australia’s First Peoples in the Constitution.

Armidale locals who would like to become active participants in the YES campaign are urged to join the Northern Tablelands Chapter of ‘Together, Yes’ to join the movement of people wanting constitutional recognition of First Nations People through a Voice to Parliament.

The meeting on Wednesday will be the first planning meeting for the Northern Tablelands Chapter where various strategies to promote the Yes campaign locally will be discusses. These strategies could include promoting informed conversations, participating in letter box drops, placing signs around towns and outside your house, and holding a ‘Conversation Café’, where people can drop in for an informal chat about the campaign. The proposal of further campaign ideas is welcomed.
