Round four of the Uralla Grants program set up by New England Solar is now open.

The Uralla Grants program was set up to share the benefits of the New England Solar and battery project with the Uralla Shire, Dangarsleigh and Kellys Plains communities. The program is part of the Community Benefit Sharing Initiative and is funded by ACEN Renewables Australia, who own and operate the New England Solar and Battery Project just north of Uralla.

Uralla Grants Round 4 is now open for applications. $50,000 in funding is again available for community groups, businesses or individuals to access. Grants of up to $5,000 for projects, events or facility upgrades are available.

So far $150,000 has been granted across 43 different local projects. Grants awarded in round 3 included:

  • Funding for drainage works to prevent flooding at Kentucky Public School
  • Funding for Pulse Fitness in Uralla to run a kick starter fitness program
  • Funding for volunteers of the Uralla Historical Society to attend the NSW Volunteer Awards
  • Equipment and uniforms for players of the Uralla Netball Club
