An investigation into a brawl in Wee Waa on Sunday has resulted in three men being charged, and put another three in hospital including one being airlifted to John Hunter.
About 6pm on Sunday, 16 April 2023, emergency services responded to reports of a fight at an address on Empire Place, Wee Waa. Officers attached to Oxley Police District attended along with NSW Ambulance paramedics and found three men injured.
A 32-year-old man was taken to Wee Waa Hospital with head injuries, and was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital where he remains in a serious condition. The two other men, aged 22 and 27, were also treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before one man was taken to Wee Waa Hospital, he has since been released.
Following inquiries, officers arrested a 19-year-old man at a home in Wee Waa on Monday. He was taken to Wee Waa Police Station and charged with common assault, affray, enter dwelling with intent, and destroy or damage property.
Later in the day, investigators arrested a further two men, who were taken to Wee Waa Police Station.
A 33-year-old man was charged with affray and common assault, and a 26-year-old man was charged with affray.
Little is know about what caused the incident, but all the men are known to each other. All three men have been released on bail to face Wee Waa Local Court in Late May.
