A man has died following a single-vehicle crash at Boggabri today on what has been a horror day for the region’s roads.

About 1.05pm (Sunday 5 February 2023), emergency services were called to Grain Valley Way at Boggabri, following reports of a crash.

On arrival, officers attached to Oxley Police District were told a motorcycle had collided with a tree.

A 69-year-old was located at the scene and pronounced dead by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

Police established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.

This was the third death on the region’s roads today, with a couple in their 30s also crashing into a tree in Moree. The Newell Highway was closed in both directions for most of the day, but is now open again.
